Swim 1. 19th June Newlyn to Mousehole
Distance: 2500m
Route: Newlyn Tolcarne Beach to Mousehole Harbour. You'll be supported from the water by a team of kayakers who are experienced in swim support. The swim will leave from close to Newlyn harbour wall and follows the rocky shoreline to Mousehole. If the visibility is good, the underwater scenery, rocks and seaweed are great. We'll pass the iconic Penlee lifeboat station, now a memorial to the crew of the lifeboat who were lost in the Union Star tragedy.
Swim 2. 3rd July Round the Mount
Distance: 2400m
Route: Marazion Beach round St. Michaels Mount and back. The swim leaves the beach at high water and you'll cross to the Mount, then stay close to the rocky shore round island. It's a very scenic swim both above and below the water. The direction of travel will be decided on the day subject to wind and swell conditions. You'll be supported from the water by a team of kayakers who are experienced in swim support. This is a circular swim, so we will finish where we started.
Max Swimmers 20 Wetsuits: Compulsary unless you are an experienced/regular skins swimmer comfortable with at least 1 hr. in the water at this time of year. Please discuss with Cathy first if you want to swim skins.
