15 Swimmers from Carrick masters enjoyed the Club’s first open water swim around St Michaels mount on Sunday evening 3rd July.
The weather provided a slight challenge to this picturesque swim which has stunning views around the mount and beautiful underwater colours and sea life. Whilst the wind was brisk, the sun shone and the high tide over warm sand made for a very warm water start. The temperature of the water got significantly colder behind the mount but we were all distracted and interested to hear snippets of Cornish tradition from our support Kayakers.
For some members this was their first introduction to open water swimming and we are grateful for the support team who made us all feel very safe.
Thank you to Rob and Gill on dry land and Mark with Dan and the kayakers who accompanied us around the mount.
Watch out for the Clubs next summer swim safari !
