Carrick members swim for Cornwall

31 swimmers made their way to Millfield on 13th November to represent Cornwall for the SW part of the National intercounty competition. Cornwall had an entry for 70/71 swims with swimmers in every individual event except the 75+ female freestyle and every relay, often with the men swimming down years. Whilst each race was only 50m some of our male swimmers had 8 events and the turnover was rapid.

The team comprised of 13 men and 17 women aged 18 to 76 years. Carrick masters had 19 swimmers in the team. Many swimmers had never swum for their County before, but everyone supported each other to swim to their full potential. Some swimmers also took on 50m swims which pushed them well out of their comfort zone (not exclusively the 50m fly swims!). There were a good number of 1st places but regardless of placing everyone swam with good humour and clearly did their very best.
