Over the summer of 2025 Carrick masters are sadly saying farewell to one of its founder members Bernie Buck.
Bernie is moving from Cornwall to pastures new.
I have known Bernie for many years: We were initially introduced in 2014 when I was a member of the CCASA committee as the County masters Rep and since then he has been an invaluable source of knowledge, supporting me both in my County role and during the foundation and development of Carrick masters.
His wisdom and understanding of master swimming is second to none and he has always been willing to share his knowledge. No questions were ever left unanswered and Bernie was always there to help, providing support both during the creation of Carrick masters in 2020/21, and throughout its evolution into the successful masters club it is today.
As a qualified coach Bernie has volunteered poolside and coached the weekly sessions at Saltash pool allowing our members from the East of the County to enjoy regular sessions with an experienced and dedicated coach.
On behalf of us all at Carrick masters we would like to say a big Thank you
We wish you all the best in your new home and thank you for all you have done for Carrick masters and all our masters swimmers in Cornwall. We will miss you!
